My Customers Know What’s Up

Robin Hellman did a full evaluation on a boy that I have been tutoring for 4 years. I was struggling to understand why he was able to easily learn certain tasks and other rather basic skills seemed challenging. My student was born prematurely and I had a feeling some of his delays stemmed from birth.  Robin did a full evaluation and then sat down with the mother and with permission asked for me to attend the meeting. Robin methodically explained every detail of the evaluation in an easy to understand manor but even more importantly she gave very specific activities that I could add to my tutoring sessions to help my student. There was much I needed to know in order to effectively work with this  child and her suggestions were invaluable. The most impressive part of the evaluation was Robins desire for follow up. She continues to check in on my progress with the student and she has attended tutoring sessions to make sure I am effectively helping him in every way possible. This evaluation has been a game changer in my work with children and I am happy to report that this particular student is making great progress.

We absolutely adore Robin and feel so thankful that we found her! When we first met, my son did not yet have a diagnosis.  She quickly assessed him and was an important part in helping our team of medical professionals diagnosis him, and from that first session, she has been an integral part of our lives. Not only does she provide invaluable OT exercises for my son, she has a wonderful therapeutic approach in her interactions with him.  Along with her warm presence, she is always mindful of his emotional and social issues and therefore, she effectively engages with him with whatever issues or behaviors arise. She knows what he needs, whether in session, at home or in school, and he is consistently responsive to her interventions and recommendations.  My son would not have been able to make as much progress as he has without her.

A few years back, my husband and I realized that one of our sons could benefit from occupational therapy.  He was born almost 8 weeks early and had some resulting fine and gross motor skill difficulties. We asked several professionals who work with children for recommendations, and all converged on Robin Hellmann. Robin has been a gift to our son and our whole family. She is incredibly skilled, balancing the perfect amounts of warmth and structure. She is patient, encouraging, kind, and flexible. I can’t say enough good things about her, except that we are extremely grateful she came into our lives and has helped our son beyond measure.

I have had the pleasure of working side by side with Robin for 8 years in our pediatric occupational therapy practice.  Robin is a highly regarded professional and is always pursuing advanced education through continuing education workshops so she is updated on all the latest advances for children.  Caring, empathetic and committed are words that I would use to describe Robin Hellmann. I highly recommend Robin as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist and I would send my own children to see her. She’s that good!

My son started seeing Robin a couple of months ago. He loves going to his therapy and enjoys sharing
what he has done. Robin is always spot-on on her observations and has got to know him well in those
sessions. My son struggles with gross and fine motor skills, as well as with attention. Since he started
seeing Robin, we have noticed improvement on a day-to-day basis. His handwriting has improved a lot,
he doesn’t drop things as often as before, has become better at planning, there has been improvement
at sports, and above all his self-esteem and self-confidence have improved. From the very beginning
Robin has provided us with tips and exercises to do at home, which in turn have made it easier for us to
help him throughout the day.

"Robin combines creativity and skill to develop targeted exercises and activities that are both therapeutic and fun. My daughter loves her OT time and looks forward to sessions every week. The therapy space is clean, bright, colorful and engaging and Robin's kind, welcoming energy puts my daughter at ease"

My son started to work with Robin when he was two after receiving an Autism diagnosis. Now, two years later he is transformed. Robin has taught our son how to connect with his body in time and space. Giving him the understanding and confidence he needs in his daily life. Today, watching him play is a joy. He is aware in a way he never would have been without Robin. We are so grateful to have her in our lives.

Feedback from various conversations between our nanny, my husband and myself about Lucas. We have all noticed HUGE positive changes the last couple of weeks. Like a weight has been lifted off of him; he is more playful and carefree, more easy going/flexible, not getting angry as quickly (or really much at all). He is still a deeply feeling kid, but his recovery is SO much faster and the reactions are not as big-he’s able to move on. He seems less anxious and just happier and present, it makes my mama heart so happy and I’m so grateful to you, because I know it’s a direct result of the work you’ve done and the carry over you’ve given us.
